Advisor Winnie Sun Plans Fun, Surprises for LPL Financial’s Twitter Takeover

One of the most followed financial advisors on social media will take over LPL Financial’s corporate Twitter account Monday to share photos, updates and her perspectives live from Focus, LPL’s signature advisor conference.

Winnie Sun, managing director of Sun Group Wealth Partners, will manage the @LPL handle, posting and engaging with others from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET Monday. “I have some really fun things prepared. I’ll be moving around, meeting people, popping into sessions and taking lots of pictures,” Sun said. “Plus, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.”

Tweets during that time will have the #WinnieSun hashtag to let people know she’s the one behind the scenes.  “I’m conversational and just really happy when I tweet,” she said.  She promises smiley faces, sunshine emojis and a lively experience.

Sun has been featured on CNBC and Fox Business, and has appeared in more than 100 interviews for national publications including The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! Finance and The New York Times. With more than 320,000 Twitter followers, she’s considered a leading influential female in the financial industry. She averages 150 million to 350 million impressions per hour, depending on topic, during her live Twitter chats on Wednesdays.

“Social media is a big part of my life,” she said. “I use it to tell my story, and let people know who I am, what I do for a living and who I serve.”

It’s also a tool she uses to increase awareness for her business. She said she wants to give other advisors a taste for what they could do on social media, making her Twitter takeover something of a best practice session on using social media to grow your business.
