CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Nov. 19, 2015 - Leading retail investment advisory firm and independent broker/dealer LPL Financial LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Financial Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:LPLA), today announced that the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) honored LPL's Victor Fetter as the Private Sector CIO of the Year, and LPL won the corporate award for Business Value. The NC Tech Awards is North Carolina's only statewide technology awards program and recognizes organizations and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership. Winners were announced at a gala on Nov. 12 in Raleigh attended by 800 leaders from across the state.

"On behalf of LPL, we are proud to be recognized by the North Carolina Technology Association for the support and innovation we deliver to help to drive our advisors' businesses," said Fetter. "I am most proud of the commitment by LPL's Business Technology Services team day in and day out to deliver efficient technology solutions that are leading the technology and financial industries."

Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards (formerly the NCTA 21 Awards) have honored companies for outstanding achievement in the tech sector and use of technology. A review committee comprised of nonprofit, media, education and technology leaders representing various regions of the state selected this year's winners.

"As this year's recipient of the corporate award for Business Value, LPL has distinguished itself as one of the state's top technology leaders," said Brooks Raiford, president and CEO of NCTA.

According to NCTA, LPL was selected to receive the corporate award for Business Value for developing a cross-functional Development Operations (DevOps) team in order to streamline and create more agile deployment processes. With these agile processes, the company's technology projects move faster through development and deployment and with better quality code. Through the reengineering of the DevOps function, the firm's technology delivery teams have been able to reduce the time to develop and deliver new features to clients by 75%, thereby creating efficiencies for LPL's technology organization, the firm, its advisors and employees.

A 25-year IT industry veteran, Fetter has served as LPL's managing director of Business Technology Services and CIO since 2012 and is responsible for delivering technology solutions that enable financial professionals to provide independent advice to millions of Americans. Since his arrival at LPL, the firm's technology team has successfully delivered more than 100 technology projects designed to positively impact the efficiency and productivity of advisors' businesses.
